The controls and numerical probe still work. Open this file in a browser with hardware acceleration enabled to see the field.
For an equal dipole, V = 0 at the centre, while E points from + to −. Zero potential does not mean zero field.
The model & what this view means
Start with superposition
E = k Σ qᵢ rᵢ / |rᵢ|³ · V = k Σ qᵢ / |rᵢ|
rᵢ points from charge i to the probe. k = 8.98755 × 10⁹ N m² C⁻²; potential is zero at infinity. Charges are fixed point charges in vacuum. The probe does not disturb them.

Field lines are a schematic 3D sample, integrated tangent to E. More |q| launches more lines; arrows point away from + and toward −. The finite view clips lines. They are not particle paths or a complete flux count.
Slice colour shows the sign of V, with saturation beyond ±60 V. Thin curves mark selected equipotentials. The 0.18 m neighbourhood around each nonzero charge is hidden because this ideal model is singular there. Charge spheres are enlarged symbols, not physical surfaces.
