About · 关于我

Hi, I’m Mengdan.

IB Physics teacher

My background is in electrical engineering, mathematics, and computer science. I began teaching physics in 2018, and have taught both A-level and IB Diploma students.

What I enjoy most about teaching is helping students make sense of something that once felt confusing—and seeing them become more confident in their own thinking.

How we learn

In my classroom

We move between observations, diagrams, graphs, and equations to build a clear picture of the physics.

Start with something to explain.

A demonstration, an everyday observation, or a prediction gives us a question to work on. We return to it as our understanding develops.

Show the thinking.

We take time to draw diagrams, state assumptions, and explain each step. Equations become more useful when students understand the model behind them.

Become more independent.

Worked examples give students a starting point. Practice then asks them to choose an approach, check their reasoning, and learn from mistakes.
